New Review
Sarren by author J.S.C. is a sword and fantasy adventure that follows the exploits of the titular character from her lowly beginnings at a school for "Mages" to her turbulent rise to warrior-in-training and ultimately to war-beleaguered Queen. All of this in the first book of a proposed trilogy!
The book is filled with colorful characters, many of whom turn out to be quite different than how they were initially presented. For example, love interests become craven villains, respected instructors become traitors, and rogues become heroes.
Intriguing creatures such as the noble Rock horses and the horrendous Oncemen are also introduced.
Although a sequel is in the works, the book has a conclusive ending. Still there is a hint for more high adventure for Sarren and her varied cast of colleagues. So, if action and adventure is your pleasure, this story is for you!
